Rugged Exterior and Off-Road Features

Built Tough on a Ford F350 Chassis

At its core, the Baja Trail LX rides on a Ford F350 Lariat 4x4 chassis, known for durability and capability. This setup offers true 4x4 performance so you can confidently tackle dirt roads and challenging terrain.

The suspension plays a big role in its off-road smoothness. Equipped with a custom Carli Pintop suspension and King Struts, the Baja Trail LX absorbs bumps without tossing you around. This combo delivers a comfortable and steady ride whether you’re cruising highways or uneven trails.

Wheel and tire choices add grip and strength. The Method wheels come paired with BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires, sized at 37 inches. They offer excellent traction and tough sidewalls built to withstand rocky paths.

Lighting and Bumpers Ready for Adventure

In front, you’ll find a Bodyguard bumper with a built-in LED light bar, plus extra Rigid lights underneath. At night, these lights flood the trail with bright, clean illumination.

Above, a massive 50-inch LED light bar sits across the roof, providing visibility for miles after dark. It’s a huge plus for late-night camps or off-trail drives.

Around back, there’s a rugged rear bumper capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds. It features Pathfinder lights, perfect for setting up camp or keeping your surroundings lit when the sun goes down.

Smart Storage and Recovery Options

Storage isn’t an afterthought here. The Baja Trail LX has three MOLLE panels, each capable of holding gear or tools up to 100 pounds. These panels make organizing outdoor equipment easy.

Rossmönster also builds its own custom storage boxes that fit different needs—from large boxes to tall skinny ones that use vertical space well.

For peace of mind, you can add a full-size spare tire mount, which is handy when venturing deep into remote areas.

The included MaxTrax recovery boards are clever additions. They help when you’re stuck in mud or sand, and when not in use, they double as a small outdoor table for prepping food or just relaxing.

The Retractable Roof Makes a Big Difference

One of the Baja Trail LX’s coolest features is the retractable roof, which can be lowered down to 9 feet 11 inches. This reduces wind resistance and lowers the center of gravity, helping the vehicle feel balanced and making the highway ride smoother.

When fully raised, the roof reaches about 12 feet tall, giving you plenty of headroom inside.

The entry door comes in two parts. With the roof down, the lower part stays open, allowing easy cabin entry. The upper part can pop up, adding extra entry space and comfort. Magnets secure the door in open position to keep it stable on windy days.

Comfortable Interior Designed to Maximize Space

Spacious Living and Sleeping Areas

The Baja Trail LX is 23.5 feet long externally, yet Joyce said it feels roomy inside. The main sleeping area features a queen bed up top surrounded by large windows that let in natural light and fresh air. Each window opens awning style, comes with bug screens, and blackout shades to keep things cool on hot days. The ladder up to the bed leans at an angle, making it easier to climb.

The living area includes a booth dinette with a lagoon-style swivel table that can be moved around as needed. This area converts into additional sleeping space, allowing the RV to sleep up to four people comfortably—perfect for friends, family, or guests.

Fully Functional Kitchen Features

Despite its compact size, the kitchen packs a punch. A two-burner induction cooktop handles your cooking needs efficiently. There’s thoughtful counter space for meal prep, including an additional prep area when you place a cutting board over the deep farmhouse-style sink. The faucet is adjustable, so you can tuck it away easily when setting the roof down.

For keeping food fresh, an Isotherm 130-liter refrigerator offers plenty of storage. A microwave finishes the kitchen setup, great for quick meals or warming up coffee.

Soft-close drawers add to the feeling of quality, providing smart storage. White oak cabinetry and black upholstery contrast nicely to create a modern, outdoorsy yet upscale look inside.

Wet Bath Designed for Comfort and Function

A spacious wet bath rounds out the interior. Alexandra, who stands about 6 feet tall, had plenty of headroom, highlighting the thoughtful layout for taller users.

The bathroom includes a Thetford cassette toilet, which makes waste removal easy by simply pulling out a cartridge to empty in ordinary toilets.

Hooks on the wall keep towels handy, and a full-length mirror adds convenience. There’s also a built-in seat inside for rinsing or drying off after outdoor activities.

The shower has both hot and cold water, letting you freshen up comfortably, even at a remote campsite.

Power and Water Systems for Off-Grid Adventures

This RV is built to keep running off the grid for a good stretch:

  • 600 watts of solar power on the roof charge the batteries using the sun’s energy.
  • A hefty 1,000 amp hours of lithium battery storage holds enough power to run appliances and devices.
  • The 3,000-watt Victron inverter converts stored power for household use.
  • Water storage includes a 40-gallon freshwater tank and an 11-gallon gray water tank.
  • The RV uses a 30 amp electrical system and includes a smart cord for easy setup when plugged into shore power.

In addition, the outdoor shower provides hot and cold water, perfect for washing off dirt or rinsing your pet before heading inside.

Driving Experience and Cab Features

Under the hood, the Baja Trail LX is powered by Ford’s trusted 6.7L Power Stroke V8 diesel engine, paired with a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission. This combo delivers plenty of torque for towing and climbing hills.

Toyota’s Carli suspension keeps the ride comfortable over rough surfaces while the retractable roof lowers wind resistance at highway speeds.

The cab includes some premium features for comfort and safety:

  • Heated and cooled seats keep you comfortable in all seasons.
  • A heated steering wheel adds warmth during cooler drives.
  • A heads-up display projects speed, time, and other useful info directly in the driver’s line of sight.
  • A Wolfbox digital rearview mirror replaces the traditional mirror, improving rear visibility and safety.

This setup makes long drives easier without feeling bulky or unstable on the road.

Practical Storage and Exterior Features Recap

The Baja Trail LX doesn’t miss a beat when it comes to storage and practical accessories:

  • Three heavy-duty MOLLE panels provide strong, organized storage options.
  • Various custom storage boxes fit on the exterior, some tall and thin, others large and spacious.
  • An optional full-size spare tire mount comes in handy for remote adventures.
  • Front and rear lighting systems help keep your campsite and surroundings well-lit.
  • MaxTrax boards serve double duty as recovery gear and a handy outdoor table.

What Sets the Rossmönster Baja Trail LX Apart

This RV strikes a nice balance between compact size and spacious feeling inside. Unlike many campers of similar length, it offers real elbow room and smart design touches that make living off-grid comfortable.

The interior looks modern yet rugged, combining white oak cabinetry with black accents for contrast and style. The wet bath, kitchen, and convertible sleeping and dining areas cover every basic need with luxury details.

Power systems allow for extended off-grid stays without worry, and the retractable roof is a clever feature that keeps you streamlined on the road yet spacious at camp.

Safety and convenience both show up in the cab’s tech features, enhancing the overall experience.
